The agency budget of $17M, which includes Caregiver Training Institute and Pima Care at Home (members of the PCOA family of nonprofit agencies), is comprised of national, state, and local government contracts; grants, contributions, and gifts; program fees; and special event revenues.
This position provides strategic and operational oversight for program areas including Healthy Living, Nutrition, and Home Repair as well as oversight and monitoring of all Older Americans Act (OAA) subcontracted services.
Regular, Full-time; Exempt, Salary
$85,000 – $95,000 per year (Dependent upon relevant education, experience, and preferred qualifications).
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provides executive leadership and oversight of the Healthy Living, Nutrition, and Home Repair program, including oversight and monitoring of OAA subcontracted and vendor services.
• Ensures programs and initiatives are performed as expected, meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, including clinical quality and business indicators.
• Grows and expands the programs and initiatives in these three areas and identifies service gaps where PCOA can add additional value.
• Increases visibility, access to, participation in, and income from programs and initiatives, with special focus on current and future programming in senior centers and opportunities for partnerships.
• Works with agency marketing to outline and create packaging and promotional campaigns as well as targeted market segment campaigns.
• Leads, designs, and supports programs and initiatives, and community partnerships.
• Leads a team which includes the OAA Program Coordinator and Healthy Living Program Director.
An equivalent combination of education and experience related to the position may be considered.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Human Services, or a closely related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least five (5) years of experience in a leadership role; experience within a non-profit setting is preferred.
• At least five (5) years of experience in community-based program development, implementation in partnership with other entities such as city and county government, public
health and other older adult service providers.
• At least one (1) year of experience in grant management; three (3) years is preferred.
• At least two (2) years of experience in program budgeting and contract management; four (4) years is preferred.
• At least one (1) year of experience in volunteer services management; two (2) years is preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must successfully obtain and maintain AZ Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance and Central Registry background clearance.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Knowledge of contractual agreements and their application to program management.
• Knowledge project and grant management principles and practices.
• Knowledge of business acumen, including principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and project management within a non-profit setting.
• Knowledge of executive management principles and practices and possession of excellent leadership skills.
• Skill in public speaking, group facilitation, community collaborations, and training.
• Ability to be an active, positive, and contributing member of the Executive Management Team.
• Ability to coach, guide, and support a multidisciplinary and professional team to optimize productivity and morale.
• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to the vision, mission, and values of Pima Council on Aging and its family of non-profit companies.
• Ability to facilitate solutions to complex problems facing the department.
• Ability to professionally represent the organization at the executive level and work harmoniously with diverse populations including staff, clients, and providers.
Schedule, Post of Duty, & Travel Requirements:
• 37.5 hours weekly, primarily Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.
• This position is located at the Lupu Building (8467 E. Broadway Blvd, Tucson AZ 85710).
• Some remote work may be available.
• Some travel is required between PCOA locations, community events, and external/internal meetings and conferences.
PCOA offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
• Employees working at least 30 hours per week are eligible for medical, (PPO and HDHP with or without an HSA) dental, and vision benefits. Employees working at least 37.5 hours per week are eligible for additional voluntary life and AD&D, as well as long- and short-term disability benefits.
• Regular, full-time employees receive 12 paid holidays, 21 days of vacation and 15.5 days of sick leave. Part-time employees receive a prorated amount of time off depending on the number of hours worked.
