Pima Council on Aging supporting seniors with healthy home delivered meals

Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller was a physician, neurologist, and the first African-American psychiatrist in the U.S. He was a trailblazer in the study of Alzheimer’s disease beginning in 1904 when he worked alongside Alois Alzheimer. Dr. Carter Fuller later went on to publish case studies describing pathological features of patients diagnosed with dementia and the first comprehensive review of Alzheimer’s disease, which described the now-trademark plaques and tangles.
