We’re on your side

We help and advocate for people age 60 and older with a wide range of issues. We help negotiate landlord/tenant disputes, as well as hoarding issues. We can help with accessing financial assistance resources, and consumer issues such as unfair sales practices and unsatisfactory service.

Services offered include one-on-one counseling or advice, contacting creditors or other entities on your behalf, assisting you in filling out forms, filing for property tax refunds, benefits enrollment, and much more.

Benefits screening

Rights and Benefits staff educate and inform people over 60 years of age and/or Medicare beneficiaries with disabilities about the benefits programs that are available to you through various agencies. We can screen you for eligibility, assist you in enrollment, and help you save hundreds of dollars on healthcare, home, food, and other costs.


How can I benefit?

Older people and adults with disabilities will receive enrollment assistance to see if you qualify for benefits including:

  • Prescription drug payments
  • Medical care
  • Food
  • Heating/utility assistance
  • Phone subsidies

HOPE – Hoarding Behavior Support Group

The HOPE (Hoarding Disorder education to learn how to Organize, Purge and End the cycle) Workshop is a facilitated self- help 10 week workshop for people who are struggling with hoarding behaviors. The goal is to help participants learn to manage their hoarding behaviors, learn skills to reduce their clutter, and, most importantly, discover they are not alone. Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) is a government agency with the State of Arizona. DES helps determine eligibility for benefits for the various programs including Temporary Cash Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Adult Protective Services (APS), Unemployment Insurance (UI), Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS), and Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). Applications can be made online at the DES website or at a local location. All offices are open Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays.
