PCOA in Washington, D.C. – Advocating for Older Adults
Yesterday, PCOA’s Rebekah McGee joined United Way’s Liz Cozzi and a national delegation of aging advocates in Washington, D.C., to meet with lawmakers about the future of essential aging services.
This visit came on the same day that about 50% of the staff at the Administration for Community Living (ACL) were informed their positions were being eliminated. ACL oversees vital programs like Meals on Wheels, caregiver support, and services that help older adults remain independent. These changes raise serious concerns about the future of aging services.
Now more than ever, we must ensure older adults and their families have access to the support they need.
How can you help?
*Stay informed about aging services in your community.
*Share your voice with policymakers about the importance of these programs.
*Keep up to date on what’s happening at advocate.pcoa.org.
*Support organizations that work to protect and expand services for older adults.
Together, we can make a difference!
