End of Life Planning

Having conversations with family, health care professionals, and close friends are important for planning your end-of-life care. Organizations like PCOA can help you begin those conversations and give you reliable information on filling out your advanced directives. In addition, these plans allow you to have the care and treatment you would want if you no longer can make the decisions on your own. The sub-categories here will assist you in this process. In the future, the Arizona Advance Directive Registry will be hosted and maintained by a healthcare organization called Health Current. As a result, a person’s end-of-life care plans will be accessible by healthcare professionals as part of their electronic health record.

description
TMC Hospice is a local nonprofit accredited by the Joint Commission, certified by Medicare, and is a Level III partner of We Honor Veterans. TMC Hospice cares for people with a life-limiting illness after the patient, physician, and family have decided that medical care to cure the underlying disease is no longer the best path. Hospice involves a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support that fits patients' needs and wishes. At the center of hospice and palliative care is the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free and with dignity and that our families will receive the support they need to allow us to do so.

Peppi's House, a 16-bed home for TMC Hospice, is located on the northwest part of the Tucson Medical Center campus. While most hospice care is delivered in the home setting, inpatient care is used for respite care when a patient's caregiver needs a rest or a short-term stay to help manage pain or symptoms that cannot be effectively managed at home. Our mission is to help those with life-limiting illnesses walk their life path and receive compassion, dignity, and love.
