ICS offers emergency utility assistance through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This program can pay for the current or past month’s utility bills. You may only receive assistance once per year. Requests for emergency financial assistance can now be made through phone requests at (520) 297-6049 or at www.icstucson.org under the GET HELP tab. Requests are taken until appointment slots are filled.

Lifeline

Lifeline Telephone Assistance Program

This program is a discount program for older adults who meet low-income requirements. Federal rules allow only one subsidized landline or cell phone per household. To apply, call or visit the website. If you have a disability and need assistance with your Lifeline application, please contact the Lifeline Support Center at (800) 234-9473.

Arizona telephone assistance programs
In addition to Lifeline, the State of Arizona offers a state telephone assistance discount — the Senior Telephone Discount Program. The telephone assistance program offers up to $3.14 per month discount on home landline telephone service.

To qualify for the Senior Telephone Discount Program:
Must have voice service
Qualifying participant must be a senior
Subscriber has qualified for Lifeline
The qualifying member of the household has an income at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines

LSS-SW's Aging & Disability Services provides in-home care, including personal attendant care, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, habilitation, and respite for family caregivers. LSS-SW delivers meals through Pima Meals on Wheels. Individuals receiving home-delivered meals may also qualify for pet food assistance.
