Legal Services

Numerous attorneys, community resources, and firms offer access to legal services to help you or your loved one through a variety of situations. Low- and reduced-cost legal services may also be available for financially eligible persons. Attorneys work with people to provide legal guidance and offer solutions. If you choose to contact an attorney regarding legal issues, please do not email personally identifiable information to the attorney before speaking with him or her and confirming that the information will remain confidential.

Native Tucson Notary provides mobile notarial services to Assisted Living Facilities, homes, Hospice or Hospitals. They work for several elder law attorneys and are familiar with trust signings and powers of attorneys. They can also provide a witness and complete loan signings for real estate communities as well as individuals needing assistance with real estate documents. Lastly, they are certified in fingerprinting.

$35.00 half-hour down-to-earth consults for affairs less than 1 million in value by an experienced paralegal, in-home signings, complete support in conducting legal matters from another state or country for relatives and friends of elderly or deceased residents of Arizona, Guardianships/Conservatorships, Wills, Trusts. Deeds, Probate, Power of Attorney, Administrative Support for End of Life Paperwork, Divorce, Real Property Splits, and Trusts. Fees are all paid upfront—a minimum service fee of $35 for refunds.
We prioritize cost efficiency by using email and video chats. Customers who don't use email must pay a $35 surcharge for paper communications. We strive to only have face-to-face meetings, if necessary, for notarizations (signings), for example. We often work with family members who are technologically capable to works with clients.
The Pima County Superior Court Law Library has Spanish translation services available to the public. We are happy to meet there to help with self-help paperwork and a translator. We would keep our time while the meeting occurs with the translator at the courthouse and bill at $120/hr. Travel charges are free.

PCOA and local elder law attorneys have come together to create a legal (information only) clinic to assist older adults. The clinic was established to allow persons 60 and over to talk with an elder law attorney for thirty minutes at no charge. (A $15.00 donation to PCOA is suggested to assist the agency in defraying its costs; no one must donate.) PCOA also makes legal aid available through our community partner Southern Arizona Legal Aid.

We help and advocate for people aged 60 and older with a wide range of issues. We help negotiate landlord/tenant disputes. We can help access financial assistance resources and consumer issues such as unfair sales practices and unsatisfactory service. Services offered include one-on-one counseling or advice, contacting creditors or other entities on your behalf, assisting you in filling out forms, helping with benefits screening, and much more. Services are available by phone or appointment at either PCOA's facilities.

Pima County launched its transition center program in late June 2023, an effort operated by the Department of Justice Services, to connect people being released from the County jail with the resources they need.

It is staffed with Justice Navigators who can assist with a wide range of services, such as referrals to housing, treatment, transportation, warrant resolution, etc. They are equipped to handle real-time referrals to services. Transition Center hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to midnight.
