Meals and Nutrition
Proper nutrition is vital to remaining healthy and aging well. PCOA provides a variety of outside resources that can assist depending upon your situation. These options range from meals delivered in your home to grocery shopping services. Some services may be private pay, but there are non-profit organizations that also work to alleviate hunger and get homebound adults nutritious food.

Pascua Yaqui Tribal enrolled seniors have access to support services by scheduling an appointment for a home visit or an office visit with their assigned social worker; seniors can participate in nutritional congregate, and home-bound meals in weekly congregate activity are provided for seniors to socialize with their peers.

Pima Meals on Wheels serves homebound older adults, age 60 and older, who cannot obtain or prepare adequate meals but can eat without assistance. Meals are prepared using low-fat, low-sodium, low-sugar, and high-fiber foods and provide various fruits, vegetables, and entrees.

The Pima County Health Department is dedicated to helping Pima County residents achieve and maintain an optimal level of wellness. Services provided include vaccines, birth, and death certificates, and preventive health programs such as chronic disease management and support, blood pressure screening/support, suicide prevention programs, and other support to address addiction and the mental health needs of adults and youth.
