Beyond the a thrift stores, St. Vincent de Paul offers additional assistance. Through home visits, they assess the needs of an individual or family and then strive to provide for those needs and to respect the dignity of everyone. They offer both emotional and material support for the needs they encounter.
This can include: rent and utility assistance; helping to ensure that there is food to eat and clothing to wear; providing furniture, mattresses, appliances like a refrigerator to keep food fresh, or a stove to cook a meal; and evaluate and meet the varied needs of a diverse population of men, women, and families.
