Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity where the people of the world come together to support their communities. After buying gifts on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we hope you will give the gift of compassion to our older friends and neighbors by donating to Pima Council on Aging this Giving Tuesday. Older adults need your help in a big way this year.

Our Client Pandemic Emergency Fund is almost empty! At the start of the pandemic the community stepped up to establish a COVID emergency fund at PCOA, which has helped thousands of older adults avoid crisis and instability. Over the months, the need for this assistance has steadily increased. This fund started out at $130,000 and just last week dipped below $10,000. This fund is at 6% of what it was, and at the same time we are getting MORE REQUESTS THAN EVER for help!

Every single day we receive dozens of requests for help with lifesaving necessities- making sure there’s food to eat, helping with medication copays, preventing utility shutoff, and avoiding homelessness. While the client pandemic emergency fund is almost gone, the need is higher than ever! This Giving Tuesday, every dollar you give will go directly to this fund to help older people in Pima County with immediate needs related to housing, health, and safety.

NOTE: All gifts on this page will go to the Client Pandemic Emergency Fund. If you would like to make a general donation click here.

This Giving Tuesday your money will go twice as far! A group of generous friends of PCOA will match your donation dollar for dollar up to $15,000. We hope you will consider extending your generosity to create a ripple effect of warmth and safety this Giving Tuesday.

Special thanks to our amazing pool of Giving Tuesday match donors: The John M. Simpson Foundation, Andy and Agnes Poore, Adaline and Daniel Klemmedson, Elizabeth C. Smith Esq., W. Mark Clark and Stacy Parrish-Clark.
