This presentation provides an overview of common scams targeting older adults and how to avoid them. It highlights the many ways scammers make contact, including phone calls, emails, social media, and in-person tactics, and the various identities they may assume, such as government officials, financial institutions, or even family members.

This session also covers practical tips for protecting personal and financial information, including safe online shopping practices, password security, and avoiding high-risk payment methods. Attendees will learn how to recognize warning signs of scams related to dating sites, extended warranties, rental assistance, job offers, and more.

Additionally, the presentation reviews current scam trends, such as fraudulent toll charges, gift card requests, QR code schemes, and other evolving tactics, empowering participants to stay informed and vigilant.
