Road To Recovery:
Road To Recovery is a transportation service provided by volunteers to assist individuals with cancer to and from their treatment appointments. Due to public safety concerns related to COVID-19, your American Cancer Society is not currently setting up or coordinating patient rides to cancer-related appointments. Please visit us online or by phone to check the status of the Road To Recovery program.
Reach To Recovery:
For more than 50 years, the American Cancer Society Reach To Recovery program has been helping people cope with their breast cancer experience – as early as the first possibility of a diagnosis and continuing for as long as breast cancer remains a personal concern.
Finding out that you have breast cancer can make you feel overwhelmed, vulnerable, and alone. Suddenly having to learn about complex medical treatments and choosing the best one can also be stressful during this time.
As breast cancer survivors, our volunteers allow patients to express feelings, talk about concerns, and ask questions of someone who has been there. Most importantly, Reach To Recovery volunteers offer understanding, support, and hope because they have survived breast cancer. Program volunteers do not provide medical advice. Through our website and mobile app, you can create an online profile and match a volunteer who has experienced a similar type of breast cancer, stage, and treatment. You can also choose how you want to connect with a volunteer – through online chat, a phone call, or exchanging messages.
Within seconds, the Reach To Recovery website and app compare your information and preferences to volunteer profiles and identify the best volunteer matches for you.

National Cancer Information Center:
The National Cancer Information Center provides information and support to those facing cancer 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Trained cancer information specialists are available via phone, live chat, and video chat. They provide accurate, up-to-date cancer information to patients, family members, and caregivers and connect them with valuable services and resources. Interfaith Community Services is part of The Neighbors Care Alliance (NCA). NCA is a network of neighborhood volunteer programs with a shared mission of helping older adults thrive safely in their homes for as long as possible. The programs serve specific geographic areas; each is independently organized. Pima Council on Aging serves as the program administrator and provides tools to build infrastructure, volunteer training, opportunities for networking and access to community resources, and mileage reimbursement. Volunteers support older adults through various services, including transportation to medical appointments and shopping, errands, meal delivery, phone calls and visits, lighthouse and yard work, and caregiver respite. Neighbors connecting to neighbors reduces the social isolation many older adults face while helping to meet everyday needs.

The NCA welcomes all interested volunteers and neighborhood programs to the network. Through participation in the Alliance, your neighborhood program will build a vast network of resources and support building a safety net for older adults.
