DES Offices

Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) is a government agency with the State of Arizona. DES helps determine eligibility for benefits for the various programs including Temporary Cash Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Adult Protective Services (APS), Unemployment Insurance (UI), Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS), and Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). Applications can be made online at the DES website or at a local location. All offices are open Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays.

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) makes Arizona stronger by helping all residents reach their potential through diverse programs that provide support and services to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. In partnership with non-profit organizations, as well as state and federal partners, DES offers vital support to residents, including by providing access to food and healthcare, as well as providing job training, enforcing child support orders, assistance with rent, along with guidance accessing unemployment insurance and evaluating reports of abuse, neglect, and abuse of vulnerable citizens ages 18 and older.
The DES Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) assists at-risk Arizonans with meeting basic needs so they can live safely, with dignity and independence. DAAS delivers Services and programs that reach diverse residents, from homeless youths to older adults and those ages 18 and older with disabilities. Adult Protective Services (APS), part of DAAS, accepts and reviews abuse, neglect, and exploitation claims for vulnerable adults. Its caseworkers take calls and report online, 24 hours a day, and collaborate with law enforcement officials, the courts, and community-based service providers to facilitate services and help protect at-risk adults ages 18 and older. Community Service Programs (CSP) expand the safety net for vulnerable and at-risk individuals and families by assisting survivors of domestic violence, those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity, and refugees seeking help settling in Arizona, among other outreach.
