Season of Giving
Michael’s story is one of love, resilience, and caregiving. For decades, his wife Taylor was the backbone of their family—an accomplished CPA who balanced work, raising their children, and managing their home. But in 2016, things began to change. Taylor, once so capable, started to forget things, and their lives shifted.
When Taylor was diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s, Michael’s world turned upside down. Suddenly, he became the caregiver, facing the daily challenges of her care, from helping her navigate their neighborhood to keeping her safe at home. Michael was soon overwhelmed by anger, confusion, and guilt that followed.
But Michael found hope through PCOA. “The support groups rescued me,” he shared.
“They reminded me that I wasn’t alone, and I could voice my feelings with people who truly understood.” Through PCOA’s support groups and counseling, Michael gained the tools and emotional strength to care for Taylor while taking care of himself, too.
Michael’s journey is a testament to the strength of caregivers and the power of community. Thanks to PCOA’s programs, Michael found the support he needed during the most challenging time of his life.
