description
The Neighbors Care Alliance (NCA) is a network of neighborhood volunteer programs with a shared mission of helping older adults thrive safely in their homes for as long as possible. The programs serve specific geographic areas, and each is independently organized. Pima Council on Aging serves as the program administrator and provides tools to build infrastructure, volunteer training, opportunities for networking, access to community resources, and mileage reimbursement. Volunteers support older adults through various services, including transportation to medical appointments and shopping, running errands, meal delivery, phone calls and visits, lighthouse and yard work, and caregiver respite. Neighbors connecting to neighbors reduces the social isolation many older adults face while helping to meet everyday needs.
The NCA welcomes all interested volunteers and neighborhood programs to the network. Your neighborhood program will build a vast network of resources and support through participation in the Neighbors Care Alliance, building a safety net for older adults.

ARC’s skilled professional case managers help seniors escape abusive and life-threatening situations. We employ the generosity of Tucson area adult care homeowners to help provide safe temporary housing, acquire immediate medical care, and transition to long-term housing– all free of charge. ARC can place vulnerable adults in temporary homes when there is an emergency with their caregiver or under duress, and they need a break. So ARC, under emergency circumstances, will temporarily place them in a home so that the caregiver can get some respite.
